German heavy music force Half Me unleash “King,” the final single taken from their new album Dogma, set for release on October 23, 2026 via Arising Empire. With the album drawing closer, “King” delivers one last devastating glimpse into its uncompromising world, pushing the band’s sound into some of its most brutal and confrontational territory yet.
Hitting with the force of a wrecking ball, “King” is a relentless hardcore assault built on crushing riffs, suffocating intensity and a constant sense of impending collapse. Rather than offering an easy release, the track keeps tightening its grip, turning aggression, desperation and inner conflict into an eruption of controlled chaos.
Lyrically, “King” dives deep into guilt, betrayal, blind faith and self-destruction. Lines such as “every knee will bend” and “every tongue will confess” draw on haunting biblical imagery, twisting ideas of righteousness, punishment and devotion into something far darker. The narrator is caught between confession and defiance, seemingly aware of their own destructive path while feeling powerless to escape it.
That conflict reaches its most vicious point in the song’s recurring images of suffering and retaliation. “Eye for an eye” and “piece by piece, tooth by tooth” transform the language of justice into a cycle of destruction, while the desperate demand to be taken “back to light” reveals the vulnerability buried underneath the violence. “King” ultimately feels less like a declaration of power than the sound of someone being consumed by the very beliefs, choices and impulses they can no longer control.
