RØRY’s second album ‘BLOODLETTING’ debuts at #8 in the UK Album Chart

For the last week, critically acclaimed alternative artist RØRY has been travelling to record stores all over the country to promote her stunning second album BLOODLETTING, appearing in-store to sign copies of the album and give fans a unique stripped-back acoustic performance. Fans turned out in droves and sold out the events, rallying behind her as she fought to beat the chart position that her debut album RESTORATION achieved.

Today, the Official UK Album Charts have confirmed that BLOODLETTING has debuted at #8, serving as RØRY‘s highest album chart position to date. Her debut album saw her smash stereotypes and prove industry naysayers wrong; BLOODLETTING confidently reinforces that, as today’s news proves.

As an independent artist without any major label backing, this is an incredible feat and a testament to the strength and power of the community that she’s built: The 37 Club. RØRY‘s fan base has driven the album to this chart position via physical sales, which accounted for a jaw-dropping 97.2% of the album sales. The remaining 2.8% came from streaming platforms. Today doesn’t just mark a huge day for RØRY, but for alternative music, industry independence and the value of physical media, too.

Speaking about the chart position, RØRY shares:
“I can’t believe BLOODLETTING is #8 in the chart. I want to dedicate this to Miles Kent, and everyone we’ve loved and lost too soon. And of course to the #37Club, you did this. And I am eternally grateful.”

For much of her life, RØRY had been comfortable writing about sadness. Anger was another matter entirely.

As therapy forced her to confront decades of suppressed emotions, she found herself face to face with feelings she had spent a lifetime avoiding: rage, resentment, jealousy, revenge, even hatred. Emotions that felt dangerous. Emotions that had never appeared in her songwriting before.

The title itself became the perfect metaphor. Historically, bloodletting was an ancient medical practice where blood was released from the body to cure illness. For RØRY, it became a spiritual act. A release of everything buried too deep for too long.

The result is the heaviest, most ambitious and most expansive music of her career. Working once again with long-time collaborators Kingdoms alongside additional production and mixing from Dan Lancaster (Bring Me The Horizon, Muse), RØRY pushed herself further than ever before. Inspired by the emotional weight of modern heavy music and determined to evolve as an artist, she began taking vocal lessons and learned to scream for the first time, discovering a new language capable of expressing emotions clean vocals could never fully contain.
