Today, Warner Music Australia and In Bloom are thrilled to announce the signing of 15-year-old Australian rock wunderkind Maple’s Pet Dinosaur. To mark the milestone, she unveils her new single ‘Child’s Play’ – the title track from her debut EP, set for release on October 30. Listen to the new single HERE and Pre-Order the EP HERE.

Of the signing Maple says, “Signing a global deal with Warner and In Bloom ahead of my debut EP ‘Child’s Play’ is a dream come true. Dan and the team at Warner in Australia have confidently empowered my creative vision and process at home, while Johnny’s A&R chops and personal support coupled with his team at In Bloom’s global footprint puts me in a great position to spread the project internationally. I’m genuinely grateful for this level of belief from one of the best labels in the world and I can’t wait to see what we will be able to do together – this will be fun!”

Johnny Minardi, SVP, A&R Atlantic Music Group said, “Maple’s music felt special from the very first listen. Thankfully, she had a handful of new songs that painted a complete picture of her unique creative vision. She’s a true force of nature, with a rare combination of talent, conviction, and relentless drive. We’re thrilled to help bring the world of Maple’s Pet Dinosaur to many many more people!”

‘Child’s Play’ is written from Maple’s perspective as a teenage girl navigating adult, often male-dominated festival and club environments. The track opens with a detuned, discordant riff stacked over a mountain of drums courtesy of Dan Stivens (Ocean Sleeper). Maple moves from rap-like cadence and clever wordplay into a crescendo of vocal runs she credits to a couple of unexpected influences.

While the song’s sonic identity pushes the boundaries of Maple’s genre-blurring approach, its lyrical inspiration comes from a much more personal place. Speaking on the track, Maple said, “I thought it would be fun to fuse Ariana Grande or Xtina-style vocal runs over something really dirty and heavy. I love exploring new ideas inside heavy, alt-metal – or whatever people want to define my genre as.”

In less than 12 months, Maple has gone from uploading DIY videos online to becoming one of the country’s most talked-about emerging artists. Blending heavy ’90s alt-metal riffs, soaring emotive vocals, razor-sharp lyricism and a warped VHS-horror aesthetic, Maple has carved out a sound and identity entirely her own.

Her breakthrough arrived in August 2025 when a zero-budget music video for debut single ‘lego’, filmed on a Ring doorbell camera, exploded across social media. The clip became the most-viewed Instagram music video Reel ever by an Australian-born artist, generating more than 55 million views on the platform, alongside over one million TikTok likes and millions more views across YouTube. Building on the success of ‘lego’, Maple used her follow-up single ‘chorus’ to secure live opportunities, quickly establishing herself as a formidable new talent on stage.

Reflecting on the aftermath of the viral video, Maple said, “I was offered so many opportunities to rinse the doorbell video – fly to the US for talk shows and stuff like that – but that video was only ever meant to be a gateway for gigs. I’m not trying to be a celebrity or influencer. I want to be a rock singer, and the best way to do that is by playing shows.”

From performing her third-ever show at SXSW Sydney to becoming the youngest artist ever to appear at Australia’s premier alternative festival Good Things – sharing stages with heavyweights like Tool and Weezer along the way – Maple’s Pet Dinosaur has rapidly established herself as one of Australia’s most exciting emerging live acts. Earning rave reviews from media including Rolling Stone, she has since delivered main stage performances at Groovin The Moo and Darwin’s iconic Bass In The Grass, while also securing a spot aboard Australia’s premier metal cruise, Hellbound. As word continues to spread, live performance clips circulating online have attracted co-signs from global icons Fred Durst and Yungblud, further cementing Maple’s status as a rising force in the alternative music scene.

Adding to an already remarkable run of milestones, Maple has also signed with leading global talent agency CAA.

With 2026 gearing up to be another massive year for Maple’s Pet Dinosaur, stay tuned for more exciting news soon.
