Rooted in medieval-inspired folk traditions and characterized by the prominent use of traditional acoustic instruments, Fejd has spent more than two decades building a devoted fan base across Sweden and beyond. Their music is defined by strong melodies, epic arrangements, and a deep connection to Nordic history, folklore, and mythology.

Now, the wait is finally over.

After years of anticipation, Fejd returns with its fifth full-length album, Nifelheim. From the very first note, listeners are drawn into a world of ancient legends, mystical landscapes, and Nordic melancholy. The album masterfully balances tradition and modernity, combining the band’s signature folk instrumentation with powerful metal compositions to create an immersive and unforgettable experience.

It is the next chapter in the saga of Fejd.

MORE ABOUT FEJD

Fejd was formed in 2001 through a fusion of the folk music duo Rimmerfors and three members of the metal band Pathos and Nostradameus. Rimmerfors played folk music with medieval undertones, performing on contemporary instruments, and together with their childhood friends of Pathos, they transformed into a refined band with the best of both worlds – the weight of heavy metal in symbiosis with the typical melodic language and sadness of the nordic folk music.

The brothers interest in swedish medieval folk music started back in 1995, commenced by music studying and the feeling of wanting to explore new musical ground and try something new. The musical background has its roots in heavy metal music, growing up listening to acts as Iron Maiden, Mercyful Fate and Bathory. Inspiration is also drawn from like-minded bands such as Garmarna and Hedningarna.

Throughout the years Fejd has played numerous festivals around Europe, Wacken Open Air, Hellfest, Sweden Rock Festival, Montreux Jazz Festival, Summer Breeze, Cernunnos Pagan Fest, Ragnarök Festival and Karmøygeddon, to name a few.

Finally, after many years of waiting, Fejd‘s fifth full-length Nifelheim arrives. Already at the first note, you are accompanied by legends from ancient times, along with powerful arrangements and the musical language of Nordic melancholy. With their folk instruments, Fejd consolidates the legacy that has made them great names in folk metal.
