HRTLSS announce new EP, ‘The Devil On My Shoulder’, due out October 2nd

Cambridgeshire alt-metallers HRTLSS have today announced their forthcoming EP, The Devil On My Shoulder, set for release on October 2nd via Papercut Recordings.

To coincide with the announcement, the band have shared their new single ‘Pulling The Thread’, offering a glimpse into an EP release that explores toxic relationships, destructive desire, self-deception and the difficult weight of accountability.

Speaking of the new single, HRTLSS share, “Pulling The Thread is an internal struggle between complacency in a toxic relationship and the desire for liberation. “Do you hear the butterflies?” may seem like a ridiculous rhetorical question at first, however it acts as an omen symbolising change, rebirth, and new beginnings – regardless of acceptance. It’s as if that liberation on the horizon is a knot in your stomach that won’t go away and can’t be replaced. Forever at arms length, never reached for.”

Blending crushing modern metalcore, atmospheric alternative R&B and cinematic electronic textures, HRTLSS create a sound that is as vulnerable as it is devastating. Across the EP, the band confront the darker sides of human behaviour – the temptation to blame others, the pull of destructive relationships and the difficult realisation that change can only begin with taking responsibility for your own actions.

Following their UK live debut alongside Mallory Knox, HRTLSS have entered a new creative chapter with producer Nathan Smart and acclaimed mixer George Lever (Sleep Token, Loathe, Breakk.Away), alongside longtime visual collaborator Zak Pinchin (Holding Absence, PRESIDENT).
