Emerging earlier this year with their heavy-hitting singles “A Cruel Separation” and “Madrid,” today NJ outfit Vita Ruina announce their signing with Mind Over Matter Records and share their new single “Modern Frames.” The track wastes no time getting to the punch, opening with punishing blast beats and ethereal tremolo guitars that have become a signature sound for Vita Ruina’s haunting brand of post-metal. Vocalist Bobby Bates transitions effortlessly through gut-wrenching screams and soaring cleans, delivering lyrics that explore the vulnerability of life’s transformations. The accompanying music video, directed by Bates, gives a devastating performance from the band, latching onto movement through frames and light.

“At its heart ‘Modern Frames’ is about discovering that while the ‘frames’ we live in might break, change, or evolve, genuine human connection and the authenticity of the lessons we learn from those experiences can endure.
At a deeper level, ‘Modern Frames’ explores the fragile structures we build to define ourselves – our identities, memories, relationships, and the expectations that shape who we believe we’re meant to be. The song reflects on what happens when those foundations begin to fracture under the weight of trauma, time and change – forcing us to confront who we are beyond the roles or ‘frames’ we’ve created for ourselves. And as that certainty dissolves and reality blurs and our ‘frames’ change, we find ourselves constantly searching for some sort of authenticity.”
“Modern Frames” was produced, engineered, mixed, and mastered by Brian Robbins. The track is a part of a two song 7” vinyl, set for release on September 18th, and is available for preorder through Mind Over Matter Records HERE. The B-side of this release is available exclusively via the 7″ and not being released digitally.
