Today, New Jersey based band 3 Dollars release their debut Plus Tax EP through Smartpunk Records. The five track EP balances adolescence and nostalgia, built through sharp melodies, hooky riffs, and a hunger to be heard. Pulling influence from acts like Title Fight, The Replacements, and Anxious, 3 Dollars have created a post-emo punk sound that captures the core of youth in the current world. EP opener “Nauseous” bursts with adrenaline and reflection, while lead single “Suppressed Memories” carries weighty rhythms and connective lyrics. “Untitled #17” closes out the EP as lyrics of uncertainty ride over impressive dynamic shifts.
