“Picture Death Grips crossed with Suicide at the speed of early Black Flag, and you might get the idea.” – BrooklynVegan

“Roused by the ethos and attitude of Sid Vicious, and drawing from hip-hop’s 16-bar verses and lo-fi trap beats, aloe represents a new wave of punk that’s put him on the map.” – AltPress

nascar aloe prepares to release his new album AUDIO SHRAPNEL this Friday, a turbulent, politically charged record with aggressive, erratic vocalizations and crude delivery. Channeling a sharpened hybrid of punk, insubordinate rap, and speedcore, listen and watch the new video for “AUDIO SHRAPNEL” out today. The title track surveys the great American wasteland, indicting today’s excessively violent political division and egocentric leaders.

AUDIO SHRAPNEL is a record humming with volatile intent, a mix of what nascar would call “RADIO STATION OBLITERATION.” Culminating from a time of despair, change, and grief, AUDIO SHRAPNEL is a testament to where he is as an artist and where we are as a society. nascar’s abrasive delivery condemns genocide, the military-industrial complex, and politically toeing the line, revealing the album is “something that paints that dilapidated picture of the world through nascar’s eyes, truly.”

The LA-based Cambodian American artist has been a polarizing figure in the underground rap scene since 2018, steadily cultivating a community that embraces his brilliantly pissed-off POV. Now equipped with a catalog of four EPs, two full-length albums, nascar has amassed over 250 million streams to date.

Following 2024’s SPEEDAUDIO SHRAPNEL finds nascar sharpening his skills and honing in on the genres that he helped define and blur the lines of. Like most of his records, nascar found creativity in unbridled anger, from “fits of drunken anger” to the sobering, clearer, more refined bits you hear in “BABY” and “1091-D.” The synth-punk manifestos denounce the political hellfire in the US, with nascar screaming “AMERICAN LIES, FED TO THE, FED TO THE, FED TO THE RIGHT, RED ON YOUR HANDS TIL YOU’RE DEAD OUT OF SIGHT,” on the out-front “MAGA (MORE AMERICAN GRAVES AMMEDIATELY).”

nascar is heading out on the Capital Punishment co-headline tour with Jasiah this summer, kicking off July 7 in Seattle, WA, at Showbox, bringing his intense chaos with stops in Los Angeles on July 12 and New York on August 12. Visit https://heynascaraloe.com/tour for more information.
