Yorkshire five-piece garage-punks Tiger Island have signed to ethical and independent label Reckless Yes and are about to release their debut album Let’s Go Out.

Influenced by the rock ‘n roll spirit of bands like Hot Snakes, the Murder City Devils and Wipers, but also the synthy power pop glam of the Cars, the B-52s and Blondie. This album is a warp speed ride through ten songs in less than 31 minutes, equal parts garagey grime and power pop gloss.

The band say, Let’s Go Out is a celebration of beautifully messy humanity, community and connection. If you’re tempted to stay home and scroll, this record will drag you off the sofa by your ankles, slap you round the face, stick you in an Uber and make sure you have the greatest night of your life. These songs explore the importance of going out and engaging with a world that can be frightening and unpredictable – but ultimately rewarding.

“There are songs that just want to party: like Guilty Pleasures, a defiant anti-gatekeeper anthem about taking control of the aux lead and “giving the people what they want” – and Comments Boy, a musical version of your mate telling that loser who’s bothering you to fuck off (with a smile).

“There are songs that explore the importance of friendship and human connection at difficult times like grief (Co-Pilots) and mental health crisis (Meet Me At Midnight).

“And there are songs about the risks of shutting yourself away from the world: the paranoia that can creep in through continued social isolation (Dangerous), the loss of self that comes from being trapped in a toxic relationship (Sea of Something, Climbing the Walls), and the individualistic horror show of tech bro culture (Animal).

“Humans need other humans, in all our awkward weirdness and difference. So – fuck it – let’s go out.”

The album follows on from the band’s self-released 2024 EP Looka Looka Looka and the inclusion of track Bad Women on the Reckless Yes compilation Among The Wildflowers in 2025. Let’s Go Out was recorded with Ross Halden at Hohm studios in Bradford with additional recording at guitarist Matt Colmer’s studio in Shipley.

The cover artwork references classic Point Horror covers of the 90s, and hidden on the back cover are visual references to every song on the track-list (prize if you spot them all – maybe!)

On signing to independent label Reckless Yes Tiger Island said, “We’re made up to be joining Reckless Yes! We were really excited to be featured on the awesome Among The Wildflowers compilation, and we loved Pete and Sarah’s ethos and enthusiasm from the get-go. We’re super happy to be part of the label’s next chapter!”

Label co-founder Sarah Lay said, “We knew we were ready to open the next chapter of Reckless Yes when we saw Tiger Island play in Sheffield. Frenetic, fierce, and funny they have a rock snarl and pop sensibilities.

“We loved their debut EP and were thrilled they agreed to contribute single Bad Women to our compilation, and we are more than excited to support the release of their debut album. We can’t wait for everyone to hear Let’s Go Out.”

Let’s Go Out is available to pre-order now and will be released on vinyl, CD and digital on 19 June 2026. Lead single Find Out Who You Are (And Do It On Purpose) is out digitally on 1 May 2026.
