Reclus.É is the incendiary and exciting brand new band from Daniel P. Carter and Soren Bryce (Tummyache), and today (Friday May 29th) can announce their signing to Rise/BMG, as well as release their brilliant debut single, ‘A Muted TV’. Produced by Dan, Soren and Peter Miles (also mixed by Peter), with drumming from Louis Giannamore. The single was recorded at Middle Farm Studios and The Black Lodge, this is the first taste from the band’s forthcoming debut album. Reclus.É is the melding of Dan and Soren’s brains. Equal parts cathartic and insightful, cinematic and hopeful – the project is an interpretation of what it means to exist in the now. Taking their name from French anarchist geographer Élisée Reclus, the project is a disparate mix of the taught brittleness of Fugazi and The Sound, the blissed out chimes of Stone Roses, the cold lushness of The Cure and the frenetic pace of Bad Brains, all acting as a bedrock for Soren’s incredible vocals. First single ‘A Muted TV’ is the examination of technology and wealth’s influence on self-image and social psyche, and it is backed by a stunning cover of ‘Roads’ by Portishead.
