Following the recent announcement of two (now sold out) warm up shows ahead of the bands appearances at 2000trees and ArcTanGent festivals – in Milton Keynes (4th July) and Brighton (7th July) – this will be the only chance to see the band live in 2026. Very much a ‘must be there’ to all fans, new and old.

On top of this show, the band can also announce a special new ‘Wave, Across The Sea’ EP, with 3 completely different, alternative endings to the ‘wave…’ single. This will be a special Bandcamp only release on June 24th, and it won’t be available on any streaming platforms. If you want to hear the tracks before then, fans can get their hands on the first track right now, ‘A Wave, Across The Sea [Hands Of God]’ with a free download sent to each person who buys an advance ticket to the band’s Here, Outernet show. A second track will be made available on the 10th June to anyone that is signed up to either the band’s Discord or mailing list.

Earlier this year, the band released their first new music since 2018, in the form of the single ‘A Wave, Across The Sea’. The track is a six-minute masterpiece that never sits in one place for too long, and showcases the full range of dynamics and breadth of musicality people have come to expect from Arcane Roots.

On the newly created versions of ‘Wave, Across the Sea’, singer Andrew Groves says:
A Wave, Across The Sea was one of the very first collaborations between Bjarni & myself. Long before any notions of Arcane Roots returning, it emerged in fits and starts, inevitably surviving pandemics, elections, protests, lockdowns, earthquakes, childbirth and numerous volcanic eruptions.  So you can forgive me for thinking, while bobbing along on our volcanic little ice cube in the North Atlantic, that it almost felt as if all the worlds’ monsters were suddenly emerging from the murky depths society had long banished them to, while we experienced the very real throws of a deeply disgruntled earth; bucking & spewing it’s mantle onto a bed of moss & lichen.”

“It is quite an outer-body experience to feel the ground moving beneath your feet, something that I feel would humble even the sturdiest of bipeds. Growing up in the UK, I was fortunate enough to not have to experience most of natures scariest turns but it soon put into perspective just how futile our existence is against the forces it employs. Thematically, this brought forward a concept; if we all felt something strongly enough, could we bring it into physical existence? We’re all aware of the ideals of spreading peace & love throughout the world but what if that feeling was one of division instead? If we all felt truly indifferent towards the ‘other’, could that somehow create some sort of physical impact? We’re all aware that extreme stresses & strong emotions can present as physical illnesses on the human body, so with a little more volume could that extend even further? To one another? To our surroundings? To the earth? Each ending explores these as a different choice. A split in the narrative, for you to explore as you will.”

A little bit about about Arcane Roots:
Arcane Roots are an alternative rock band formed in the UK known for their intricate musicianship, emotional intensity, and genre-defying sound. Formed in the late 2000s, the band’s final incarnation, before announcing their split in 2018, consisted of Andrew Groves (vocals, guitar), Adam Burton (bass), and Jack Wrench (drums). This current reunion sees the band return with renewed creative purpose and an expanded line-up. Founding member Daryl Atkins has rejoined the group alongside Icelandic composer Bjarni Biering, whose combined perspective and multi-instrumental versatility signals a new era for the band.

Blending math rock complexity, post-hardcore energy, and expansive electronic textures, Arcane Roots developed a reputation for ambitious songwriting and technical precision. Their early EPs, including Left Fire (2011), earned them a cult following with riff-heavy tracks that paired soaring melodies with intricate rhythmic shifts.

The band’s debut full length album, Blood & Chemistry (2013), pushed their sound further into emotional, anthemic territory, while still showcasing their trademark precision. They evolved again with Melancholia Hymns (2017), embracing synth driven atmospheres, ambient influences, and a more introspective lyrical focus. This bold shift earned critical praise for its inventiveness and maturity, and saw them grow at UK radio with two back to back Radio 1 ‘Hottest Records In The World’, and garner over 30 plays on the station for lead track ‘Curtains’, a 5 minute masterpiece.

The band are hugely celebrated for their dynamic live performances, often moving fluidly between delicate passages and explosive, cathartic climaxes and they step confidently into a new era one that honours their past while boldly exploring the sounds and ideas that lie ahead.
