RELEASES SECOND DESIGN DROP

May 15, 2026 — Today, Sum 41 frontman and bestselling author Deryck Whibley releases the long-awaited second drop for his clothing brand, Walking Disaster. The new pieces are available now at walkingdisaster.com.

Consisting of a zip-up hoodie, four new sock designs including cheetah print and striped patterns, a snapback hat, a beanie, and two new shirts, the new drop offers bold, punk-inspired pieces that encourage fans to “Own Your Chaos.” Every piece in Drop 2 was designed personally by Whibley with the same hands-on approach he brought to Drop 1, which sold out faster than anyone anticipated. Each piece is designed with intention and a DIY sensibility, blending bold visuals with everyday wearability. Rooted in self-expression and nonconformity, the collection reflects the attitude at the core of Walking Disaster, giving fans a way to carry that mindset into their daily lives.

The new drop also includes bundle options and a limited-time Chaos Box, featuring Walking Disaster socks, gear, and box-only extras available only while supplies last.

“Walking Disaster was never supposed to feel like normal merch,” says Whibley. “I wanted it to feel like something people would actually wear because it says something about them. Drop 2 is louder, weirder, and more like the world I always pictured for this brand. It’s about owning the messy parts of yourself and still walking tall.”

Walking Disaster is more than a clothing line. It’s a statement of identity, resilience, and rebellion for those who never quite fit in. What began as Whibley’s personal obsession with designing the perfect sock, born out of years on the road, quickly expanded into a growing collection of apparel, accessories, and more. Each piece is intentionally designed and sourced, blending high-quality fashion with a do-it-yourself ethos and a story behind every piece.

“I had this idea to start Walking Disaster as a clothing company back in 2008. And I actually incorporated the name, started the company, but because I’m so committed to what I do, I was 100% focused on Sum 41 and didn’t have the bandwidth or the time to put the effort in to do a great clothing line,” explains Whibley. “Once Sum 41 was over, I decided now’s the time. I want to do something that’s still creative, still really fun. It’s not the same as writing music, but I still get to be very creative, and all these ideas that are floating around in my head, I get to put them into clothing instead of music.”

The first drop of the collection launched November 15 at Vans Warped Tour Orlando, with an official Walking Disaster tent run by Deryck himself and multiple items quickly selling out both in-person and online. Drop 2 continues the next phase of Walking Disaster with new socks, apparel, accessories, bundles, and limited Chaos Box extras available now.

Deryck Whibley is a Canadian musician, songwriter, and producer best known as the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist for the punk rock band Sum 41, recently inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. Over the years, the band became known for its distinctive blend of punk rock, metal, pop-punk, and alternative influences. Whibley’s dynamic stage presence and ability to craft songs that are both infectious and emotionally resonant helped solidify Sum 41 as one of the most influential acts of the early 2000s punk scene. Beyond his work with the band, Whibley has collaborated with a range of artists as a writer, producer, and mixer, including Iggy Pop, Avril Lavigne, Tommy Lee, and Operation M.D., among others.

Whibley’s creative pursuits extend far beyond music. His memoir, Walking Disaster: My Life Through Heaven and Hell, became an international bestseller and offers a deeply personal look at his rise to fame, struggles with addiction, path to recovery, and surviving abuse, making for a raw and honest story of resilience, healing, and balance. Now, he is channeling that same creative spirit into fashion with Walking Disaster, his streetwear brand. What began as a simple idea to end the reign of boring socks quickly evolved into a movement to create clothing that is more than just fabric, but what Whibley calls “identity armor.”
