Today, New Jersey’s GOOD TEAL and Baltimore’s NOIR BENNY announce an explosive and eclectic split, GOOD BENNY, set for release on June 5th. Hardcore and rap combining isn’t a new thing, but this isn’t some rapcore gimmick, this is a powerful sonic statement built on two intersected worlds. Featuring two collaborative tracks and two individual tracks, the split is a showcase of what Good Teal and Noir Benny are about, as Good Teal vocalist Reg Mason puts it “fire-hearted punks that always have 16 bars in their back pocket.”
The first taste comes in single “COMPANY!” out now. Driven by passion and aggression, the song rides off Good Teal’s fiery alt punk with Noir Benny matching their energy. Hyper-assertive vocals meet heavy, groove-driven riffs made for two-stepping. The video for the song captures a gritty live performance from the pair with the audience feeding into the spirit the project sets out to convey.

On “COMPANY!” Mason shares,
“Lots of people my age are failing at being something they never wanted nor asked to be in the first place. Some go on to project that cognitive dissonance onto people living their truth and some stay true to themselves. It’s difficult to block out the noise so writing a song to celebrate the ones who do felt like a correct first step.”
and Benny echoes:
“It’s about celebrating your independence. I wrote it about escaping the hivemind, being your own man, and living your own truth away from whatever truth people try to create for you.”
“COMPANY!” was produced by Good Teal with mixing by drummer Shane Stanton and mastering by Matt Filipek. The accompanying video was directed by vocalist Reg Mason.
