“This is rather fantastic. It doesn’t take a village, it takes five people in a great band 9/10″
POWERPLAY
“Who On Earth’s sound is weighted towards the heavy, yet there’s plenty of variety on offer. Who On Earth? You’re about to find out!”
DEVOLUTION MAGAZINE
“A record that feels like a celebration of their roots. Well produced, well performed and packed with riffs that hit as hard as the band’s conviction”

US hard rock/metal torchbearers Who On Earth will release their second album, ‘It Takes The Village’, on 8th May. Extending a potent partnership with producer Mike Orlando (Adrenaline Mob, Category 7), who also helmed their well-received 2022 debut, ‘Blame’, the new record includes a brand new single entitled ‘Shadows’

and ‘Any Other Way’ STREAM | VIDEO.
Built on thunderous grooves, dual guitar harmonies and an arena-ready chorus, ‘Shadows’ delivers both nostalgia and urgency in equal measure, channelling the spirit of classic metal while reinforcing the band’s sharp lyrical perspective.
‘It Takes The Village’ displays Who On Earth’s diversity, featuring hard-driven, solid-metal tracks, some groove metal and a theatrical acoustic tune. Among three bonus songs is the band’s 2025 single ‘Jane’ STREAM | VIDEO (
“The concept behind the title ‘It Takes the Village’ is centred around the forces that are impacting the everyday person,” explains bassist Pete Rizzi. “The combination of inflation, fake news, corporate greed, political BS, war, and more, is a powerful machine that is literally destroying us. It’s taking the village, weakening it to the ground. The alternative interpretation and a favourite of ours, is one of unification. It takes all of us, regardless of political affiliation, race, gender, creed, whatever, to band together, to unite, so that together we can resist these forces and stand our ground. It will take the entire village, all of us together, to turn the tide.”
The release of ‘It Takes The Village’ coincides with the start of a US tour with Fozzy.

Who On Earth began establishing a reputation through relentless gigging around the New York tri-state area, with founding members Coosh (vocals) and Pete Rizzi (bass) having previously torn up stages as MadHaus.
During 2020, the longtime collaborators shifted their focus from covers to original material, writing ten songs and entering Sonic Stomp Studio with producer Mike Orlando (Category 7, Adrenaline Mob). Joined by drummer Joe D’Aqui, the group crafted a heavy, story-driven sound rooted in classic hard rock influences such as Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Alice in Chains and Tool. Despite delays caused by the pandemic, the sessions yielded ‘Blame’, their widely praised debut album released in late 2022.
Following the addition of guitarists Bruce Gatewood and Johnny James Barone, they gained further traction with a heavy rock reimagining of Toto’s ‘Hold The Line’. A line-up change brought in drummer Howie Fallon in 2024, though tragedy struck later that year with the passing of Gatewood. Jimmy Kocha joined in late 2024 as co-lead guitarist to solidify the current line-up.
