PRESS HERE to order A Grog Is Born on CD and vinyl. Early praise has Rock At Night declaring, “A Grog Is Born isn’t just an album; it’s an immersive experience. While many modern rock records bury their message under layers of distortion, Deimer places his storytelling front and center…this collection of songs functions like a rock opera in the vein of Tommy, weaving a narrative of pain, history, and ultimate hope.” “A Grog Is Born is so apropos because I am The Grog in my new movie, Scared To Death,” shares Deimer. “We had such a great time making this movie with an amazing ensemble cast including Lin Shaye from Insidious, There’s Something About Mary, and Kingpin, and Bill Moseley from my favorite movie, The Devil’s Reject. And then, what an honor for me to record with Josh Todd from Buckcherry for ‘In Deep,’ a song I wrote six years ago with Ben Trexel, and Geoff Tate for our new version of ‘Silent Lucidity’ for A Grog Is Born. I watched Geoff sing that song on MTV in 1992 with the orchestra and now he has become a friend and mentor. I can’t thank him and his wife enough for all the love and support they’ve shown me over the last five years. I also did a cover of ‘In The Air Tonight’ because I love Phil Collins and that was one of my favorite songs when I was young. Phil is a remarkable artist, so how do you do it justice other than just make it rock the fuck out, and that’s what we did. A Grog Is Born has some really kickass tunes that needed to be sung now that my vocals have improved. I’m singing in octaves I never thought I’d dream of singing ten years ago. This album is a total departure from my debut, And So It Begins…, and I hope everyone loves these killer songs as much as we do. And Chris Lord-Alge, I love you, man!” A Grog Is Born touches on everything from bruising hard rock to epic balladry, while overtly connecting Kurt Deimer The Singer and Kurt Deimer The Horror Star under The Grog moniker, the scene-stealing character he stars as in the new irreverent, high-voltage horror-comedy Scared To Death, available soon on demand on all major digital platforms across North America following its theatrical release in March. Deimer’s role in Scared To Death – starring Lin Shaye and Bill Moseley and written and directed by Paul Boyd (Neon Trees, Dave Stewart, Shania Twain) – has been hailed as “bold and intense” and “the heart” of the film. Deimer’s haunting single “Scared To Death” is a featured track in the film with its music video shot at Woodbury-Story House in Altadena, California, the same historic house that the film was shot at – PRESS HERE to watch. Marking the cinematic follow-up to Deimer’s 2025 debut full-length album, And So It Begins…, co-written with Bon Jovi guitarist Phil X and also produced by Lord-Alge, A Grog Is Born finds Deimer taking a major leap as a vocalist and bandleader, stretching out his instrument beyond distinctively low speak-singing into a more robust melodic style. His more confident and colorful delivery, elevated by years on the road, allowed him to explore an even more impressive range of styles, from brooding Gregorian-rock of “800 AD” to the optimistic and beautifully atmospheric “True” to the twangy tale of destruction and salvation “Always There.” A Grog Is Born opens with “In Deep,” the thunderous, no-frills single about a hypnotic attraction – PRESS HERE to watch the official music video for “In Deep” featuring scenes from the Scared To Death film. The new album also includes a heavy recreation of the Phil Collins classic “In The Air Tonight.” A Grog Is Born closes with Deimer’s gorgeous take on “Silent Lucidity,” which he and Geoff Tate recently released with a powerful music video highlighting the growing suicide epidemic across the world with a call to action for all those who need help. The video has been resonating with people worldwide as its viewership grows daily, currently with over 460K views – PRESS HERE to watch. Full track listing for A Grog Is Born below. In a few short years, Kurt Deimer has been making a name for himself in both the hard rock scene and horror film world. The Cincinnati native with a distinguishing deep voice started his first rock band at age 20 but then pivoted to a more conventional business path. In 2018, he inadvertently revived one of his artistic dreams and kickstarted his flourishing acting career with an appearance in John Carpenter’s Halloween revival, portraying a pivotal role alongside Jamie Lee Curtis and facing off against the infamous Michael Myers, and landing a cameo in the John Travolta racing drama Trading Paint.Soon after, Deimer officially introduced himself in 2021 as a musician and songwriter with the release of his original, vibrant rock music. He has spent the last few years relentlessly touring with his impressive band, sharing the stage with major acts including Drowning Pool, TESLA, Skid Row, Buckcherry, Sebastian Bach, and Steel Panther. The multi-talent, who also spearheads his own horror movie franchise “Hellbilly Hollow” as both star and producer, continues to up his game to the next level with every project he does. All in all, Kurt Deimer’s mission is to connect with people – connect with their lives, get to know who they are, and bring them hope – no matter what he’s doing. A Grog Is Born Track Listing 1.
