INAUGURAL UK HEADLINE TOUR KICKS OFF MAY

CONFIRMED FOR STATE FAYRE FESTIVAL IN CHELMSFORD IN JUNE

NATE BERGMAN, the Nashville by way of D.C. singer-songwriter, has teamed up with vocalist Emma Boster of Oregon metalcore outfit Dying Wish. The duo have taken on a haunting cover of Death Cab For Cutie’s ‘I Will Follow You Into The Dark’.

On the origins of the collaboration, Nate explains:

“After a chance encounter at two memorial services in New York and Los Angeles for a mutual friend, I figured out that Emma and her husband were my neighbors in Nashville and that we had a plethora of personal and professional friendships that we shared. We are actively working on a project that I can’t speak about quite yet, but the end result was beyond my wildest dreams. Emma is a powerful vocalist, writer, and consummate creative mind in the studio. So after hours of laughter, singing, and our shared love of a certain wave of emo and folk, covering Death Cab for Cutie’s ‘I Will Follow You Into The Dark’ just made sense. A sort of amuse-bouche to a very special piece of art we constructed together.”

First introduced to U.K. audiences as the frontman of reggae-influenced rock act LIONIZE, in recent years NATE BERGMAN has trailblazed a new path as a diverse solo artist embracing Americana, while not turning his back on his other loves of emo, punk, rock, and metal.

Anchored in Nashville’s vibrant music scene, Bergman’s journey began with a passion for storytelling through song. His live performances are a testament to his talent, marked by a magnetic stage presence that captivates audiences wherever he sings.

Nearly a year on from 11 dates around the U.K. & Ireland as special guest to Chuck Ragan, NATE BERGMAN has now revealed his return to the U.K. this May and June, as well as plans for new music.

Nate says:

“My romance with the UK and live shows is nothing new. From the first solo shows of my career in Manchester and at Blondies in London, the Day before the pandemic shut the world down, to supporting Amigo the Devil and Chuck Ragan on two separate amazing tours. Having played 2000 Trees and now coming back to play State Fayre, it seems fitting to try and expand my performances by playing a few of my favorite cities as a headliner. I think the world needs community, art, and love more than ever, so I’m going to make sure that for these shows we get a little reprieve from the chaos and uncertainty, and take a moment to sing, laugh, and cry together. See you very soon!”

Most recently, NATE BERGMAN released a beautiful cover of AFI’s “Girl’s Not Grey“, which aired on the BBC Radio 1 Rock Show on February 16th. You can listen to the show again here.

No stranger to a classic cover, Bergman scooped up a wealth of new fans after a compelling set at 2000Trees Festival and European shows with US star AMIGO THE DEVIL last year, where fans got to hear Bergman’s version of the My Chemical Romance enermo-hit “Helena” live on stage and his heart-wrenching, original track “Deep End“. On the studio recording of “Deep End”, Nate sings and plays guitar, with The Raconteurs’ Jack Lawrence on bass – the track was captured in one take live to 2-inch tape, with no digital editing.

Fans can also check out melancholic single “Wish I Was” and its retro gaming-inspired video. When NATE BERGMAN unveiled “Back To Nashville“, the song was promptly voted ‘Track Of The Week’ by Classic Rock readers and immediately landed a prime slot on Planet Rock Radio’s Stateside Playlist.

Bergman’s debut solo album Metaphysical Change, a blues-steeped, country-inflected record released via Velocity Records in 2022, marked the shift in his songwriting. Exploring themes of transformation, loss, and self-discovery, the album blended soul, Americana, and rock influences into a deeply personal body of work. The record featured collaborations with a range of acclaimed musicians, including Brit Turner (Blackberry Smoke), Frank Iero (My Chemical Romance), and Per Wiberg (Opeth), among others. Through raw, soul-driven melodies and reflective lyricism, Metaphysical Change established Bergman as a distinctive new voice bridging folk, blues, and modern Americana. Listen on Spotify here.

it might just be the rock n roll debut of the year.” – Ghettoblaster
