With packed shows and an arsenal of incendiary new songs, the return of Marmozets is almost as if they’ve never been away. That rousing momentum now continues as they unveil the new single ‘Cut Back’. It joins ‘A Kiss From A Mother’, ‘You Want The Truth’, ‘New York’ and ‘Running With The Sun In Your Eyes’ in previewing the May 22nd release of their long-awaited new album‘CO.WAR.DICE.’.
‘Cut Back’ is Marmozets at their most maximalist. It’s a frenetic contender for the band’s most immediate track to date, with every sonic element hitting hard from its main riff, to its adrenaline-fuelled rhythm and, of course, Becca Bottomley’s fiery vocal, equal parts caustic and cool.
‘Cut Back’ is indicative of what Marmozets have delivered with ‘CO.WAR.DICE.’ – hitting the sweet spot between their original ferocious attack but with a new-found lean, every-moment-matters directness. Completed by Becca’s husband Jack Bottomley (guitar) and her siblings Sam Macintyre (bass) and Josh Macintyre (drums), Marmozets are now building a bold second era to follow their original breakthrough with the critically-acclaimed albums ‘The Weird and Wonderful Marmozets’ (2014) and ‘Knowing What You Know Now’ (2018).
‘CO.WAR.DICE.’ is available to pre-order or pre-save HERE. Its physical formats include signed red-and-yellow vinyl, heavyweight 180-gram black vinyl, and CD. All album bundles purchased from the band’s official site will be rewarded with an additional bootleg CD of the album’s early demos.
Marmozets will celebrate the release of ‘CO.WAR.DICE.’ with a record store tour consisting of intimate performances and album signing sessions. They will then embark upon a headline tour in June. Further touring plans are taking shape for the remainder of the year, with a Finsbury Park show confirmed as guests to Biffy Clyro (June 13th) and a return to 2000trees (July 11th).
