About Flwers: Emerging from Chicago IL, pop-rock band Flwers, are a tight-knit group being life long friends forming in middle school. “We not only love playing and creating music together, but just love hanging out and being around each other.” says lead vocalist, Jack Wenstrup about the structure of the band.
Growing up always wanting to be in a band, Flwers has matured as songwriters and draws inspiration by watching friends and family go through life. “A lot of my songwriting is inspired by having long talks with close friends about break ups, dating, marriage, or whatever the case may be.” Wenstrup says regarding the inspiration for the band’s songs. “Life has so many ups and downs and regardless of what happens, I think you can find inspiration anywhere.”
Heavily influenced by artists such as The Maine, The 1975, Boys Like Girls and The Summer Set, the band puts forth vibrant hooks, ear-worm choruses and edgy guitar riffs. Flwers showcase their glossy song-writing style throughout their debut EP, Golden Days, and highlights musical growth with their new single, “Lose My Brain.” “The new single blends the synthy alt-pop we listen to today with some of the elements of pop-punk and emo that we grew up listening to. It’s our fastest song with the most energy, which is why we were so excited to release it the day our spring tour with Lake Drive starts.” Says Wenstrup about the new release.
Having shared the stage with A Story Told and singles such as “Bittersweet” and “Aftertaste” being featured on Idobi Radio while “Song About You” made its way onto Fresh Finds Pop on Spotify, the band shows no sign of slowing down. “I hope people can use our music as an escape from our everyday lives.” Wenstrup says about the band’s music. “ The world is a crazy place right now so being able to lose yourself in a song for 3 minutes is becoming more and more important every day.” Stream “Lose My Brain” across all platforms now.
