AMERICAN VANITY

RELEASE MUSIC VIDEO FOR

“POISON IN YOUR CUP”

DEBUT ALBUM 17

OUT EVERYWHERE JULY 17th

March 20, 2026 – Today, rising PA rockers American Vanity release the music video for their latest single, “Poison In Your Cup.” The track is the second offering off of their debut album, 17, available everywhere on July 17th.

The music video for “Poison In Your Cup” draws inspiration from Don’t Worry Darling, unfolding as a striking visual that rejects compliance, dismantles illusion, and captures the moment awareness breaks through. Singer Virginia Franks stars as a mail-order “home companion unit,” designed to cater to the men around her, who begins to unravel as expectations pile up and respect erodes. Throughout, the video weaves in real comments pulled directly from the band’s social media, sharply underscoring the unfiltered reality women in music continue to face online.

“Every comment you see in the video came straight from our social media. Women artists deal with this shit every single day,” explains Virginia.  “People assume you didn’t write the song, you didn’t write the lyrics, you’re not really playing your instrument, or that you’re supposed to look or act a certain way. And honestly, fuck all of that. We made this video for every girl who wants to be in a band and to show that women in rock aren’t here to fit anyone’s expectations.”

17, American Vanity’s debut record, is a cathartic, high-impact body of work that pairs emotionally charged lyricism with sharp, modern alternative rock production by Matt Squire. Across the record’s 10 tracks, the band navigates the fragile space between connection and self-preservation, unpacking the quiet pressures that society places on us. Each song is a different form of catharsis, capturing the volatility of self awareness in real time. From the high energy, hooky “Lifeline” to the brooding vulnerability of “Kill To Feel,” 17 is a cohesive yet emotionally varied debut that details the journey of reclaiming your identity and finding yourself again.

“This album explores what happens when connection becomes conditional and self-worth is tied to visibility, loyalty, or approval,” American Vanity shares. “Each song documents a different stage of realizing that staying accessible, agreeable, or available can quietly erode identity. Rather than opting out, the record confronts how to participate without losing yourself.”

American Vanity, formerly known as Burn The Jukebox, is a group that turns modern rock into a mirror — vivid, unfiltered, and built to reflect what it feels like to live in your own skin. Led by dual vocalists Virginia Franks (bass) and Luke Hoffman (guitar), with Luke Vanchure on lead guitar and Carter Dennis on drums, the four-piece creates music that takes aim at how image, approval, and identity get tangled in the attention economy, where everyone’s chasing views but no one feels seen.

The band are no strangers to touring, having previously performed across the country, and 2026 is shaping up to be yet another impressive live year. Next week, American Vanity will take the stage at Stockroom East in South Bend, IN and The Intersection in Grand Rapids, MI followed by shows in Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, New York, and Maryland.
