New York, NY (March 13, 2026) — Rising indie-rock outfit Krooked Kings share “Damage Control” today — listen HERE. The track is the latest release from the band’s forthcoming album In Another Life, out March 27. The LP was recorded in Los Angeles with acclaimed producer Yves Rothman (Blondshell, Yves Tumor), mixed by Lawrence Rothman (Amanda Shires, Marissa Nadler), and mastered by Emily Lazar (Jacob Collier, HAIM, Vampire Weekend), signaling a confident new chapter for the Salt Lake City–born five-piece featuring Oli Martin (vocals, guitar), Paul Colgan (guitar), Dave Macey (keys), Matt Monosson (bass), and Quinn Casper (drums).
“Damage Control” finds the band turning inward, examining the self-destructive habits that strain their closest relationships. The song sits in the uneasy space between regret and realization, reflecting on impulsive choices, miscommunication, and the emotional fallout that follows when attempts to fix things come a little too late. Rather than shying away from those flaws, the band leans into them, pairing candid, introspective lyrics with a bright, guitar-driven arrangement and a memorable hook that gives the track an urgent sense of momentum. That blend of vulnerability and drive channels a familiar indie-rock yearning, turning a moment of self-reflection into something both cathartic and irresistibly catchy.
Dave Macey says of the single, “‘Damage Control’ is a song we wrote long ago but we couldn’t quite figure out what to do on the chorus. Naturally we made it as big and loud as possible and that seemed to do the trick. It’s a song about getting drunk and embarrassing yourself. Simple, straightforward, rock and roll. FFO: Cage the Elephant, Backseat Lovers, Inhaler.”
“Damage Control” follows earlier singles “Rancher’s Daughter,” “Parking Lot,” “My Friend Max”, and “Ugly Love”. Together, these releases trace the emotional arc at the heart of In Another Life, from small-town yearning and the rush of new love to the quieter realization that real connection often exists in the messy middle. Each track expands the band’s sonic palette while reinforcing their knack for melody-driven storytelling.
Across In Another Life, Krooked Kings navigate the space between who you are and who you hope to become, channeling the uncertainty, humor, and growth of young adulthood into sweeping indie-rock built for both late-night drives and packed live rooms. Written in the wake of an intense touring period, the new material reflects a band leaning further into vulnerability while embracing a more expansive dynamic range — balancing full-throttle choruses with moments of raw introspection.
Formed in Salt Lake City, Krooked Kings built their reputation through sincere songwriting and electrically communal live shows. The band has amassed more than 100 million global streams to date, reached the Top 50 on US Alternative Radio with fan favorite “Sick of Being Young,” and toured extensively across North America and beyond. With In Another Life, they step firmly into their next phase, shaped less by internet cycles and more by the audience that has grown alongside them.
Krooked Kings will support the album release with a headline tour beginning this spring. All confirmed dates are below.
