NOST Emerges With Cinematic, Emotionally Raw Sound Exploring Inner Presence and Identity – New Single High & Low (OUT NOW)

London based Alt-Metallers, NOST, channel raw emotion and cinematic soundscapes through their music. Forming in 2024, NOST have shown their intent with their debut single ‘Black Sun’ and on the 27th February 2026 will return with their second single ‘High & Low’.

The term NOST has a deep meaning that resonates throughout the band and their message of owning your pain and not letting it destroy you. NOST refers to the word Nostalgia, which was a mental illness in the 17th – 19th century. The word Nostalgia is build up from two words NOSTOS (meaning homecoming) and ALGOS (meaning pain). The band have stated “NOST is not just a band — It’s a presence waiting to be named. A space waiting to be opened.”

NOST’s soundscapes fuse heavy guitars, electronic landscapes, and catchy dark pop hooks that is modern in sound, a unique image but a message that all audiences can relate to. NOST are building a sound that resonates at the intersection of vulnerability and aggression. A space where emotion becomes frequency — as if it’s always been there, waiting to be unearthed.

Commenting on the latest single High & Low, vocalist and songwriter, Edward Heredia states:

“This song explores the feeling of being trapped inside your own skin, stuck with the same thoughts, memories, and emotional patterns for too long. The recurring imagery of reflections, drifting, and the void conveys a deep sense of disconnection and loss of direction, as if watching yourself fade into emotional numbness while searching for an escape.”

At its core, the song captures the quiet weight of fear, burnout, and emptiness, balanced by a subtle desire to let go and relieve the pressure.

‘High & Low’ is the second single from a band with a bright future and with this follow up to their 2025 single ‘Black Sun’ it shows a band driven to make an impact.
