GRAMMY-NOMINATED ROCKERS THE BLACK CROWES
WREAK HAVOC WITH RUSS MEYER-INSPIRED VIDEO FOR NEWLY RELEASED SINGLE “PROFANE PROPHECY”
Featured on New Album A POUND OF FEATHERS – Coming March 13
London (January 19, 2026) – Legendary rock icons and 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nominees The Black Crowes today released a Russ Meyer-inspired official music video for their newly-released single “Profane Prophecy” off the band’s forthcoming album, A Pound of Feathers, out everywhere March 13.
Equal parts decadent, confrontational, and artfully unhinged, the video uses the color red and devils as both an aesthetic and metaphor. Representing the seven deadly sins, the devils are unleashed into a world of stark, unforgiving morality, sowing chaos at every turn around the band – designed to deliberately feel off-kilter and blur the line between fantasy and reality.
“‘Profane Prophecy’ is about the devil you know, the devil you never knew, the devil inside of me and devil inside of you,” shares Chris Robinson. “The mischief and madness in the beautiful expression that is rock n roll… and you can dance to it.”
Out now, the accompanying visual was shot in Los Angeles and directed by artist and musician Dagger Polyester whom Chris Robinson discovered in LA’s underground music scene. A fever-dream spectacle inspired by the provocative, hyper-stylized world of Russ Meyer, Dagger enlisted 15 students from a Los Angeles Art Collective to help bring the video to life, meticulously designing the costumes, building the set, developing choreography and styling each character’s hair and makeup.
Rapid cuts, daring composition and a surprising, fatale finale echo the audacious spirit of cult cinema’s most notorious provocations. Anchoring the chaos are brothers Chris and Rich Robinson, whose performance cut through the surreal visuals, resulting in a visual that feels both classic and daring – a modern tribune to outsider art, pulp mythology, and theatrical danger that once defined rock music.
The explosive opener sets the tone for the whole project. Fueled by kinetic rhythms and alluring attitude, the track radiates pulp-soaked, unapologetic confidence, blending cheeky fun and funky lyricism with driving, powerful instrumentals only founding members and brothers – Chris and Rich Robinson – could deliver.

ABOUT THE BLACK CROWES:
Founded by brothers Chris and Rich Robinson, The Black Crowes make music for the mavericks, playing rock ‘n’ roll that’s hip-swinging and heavy, dirty and debonaire, bluesy and ballsy, ecstatic and electrifying, and soulful and soaring. They don’t fall in line, and they never cared to either. Instead, they’re right at home with the outsiders, the drifters, the lost souls, the hustlers, and the hellraisers who inhabit timeless tunes like “She Talks To Angels,” “Hard To Handle,” “Wiser Time,” “Twice As Hard,” and “Black Moon Creeping.” No matter where culture went, the multiplatinum GRAMMY® Award-nominated group fearlessly charted their own course, taking flight with the 5x-Platinum Shake Your Money Maker and never coming back down. Their path twisted and turned from seminal records a la the 2x-Platinum Billboard 200 #1 LP The Southern Harmony And Musical Companion and Gold-certified follow-up Amorica to a once-in-a-lifetime jaunt with Jimmy Page and accompanying Gold-certified live record: Live at the Greek. The band’s lore expanded with the chart-shaking Warpaint and Before the Frost…Until the Freeze. Another generation fell under their spell as they launched their biggest headline tour yet to celebrate Shake Your Money Maker’s 30th birthday. They lit up the next chapter with 2024’s Happiness Bastards—which garnered a GRAMMY® Award nod for Best Rock Album. Between widespread critical praise, they even picked up a 2025 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame® nomination. Rather than rest on their laurels, Chris and Rich wrote and recorded their tenth full-length offering, A Pound of Feathers, in ten days. It’s the sound of uncompromising, urgent, and undeniable rock ‘n’ roll. It’s the sound of unrepentant creative spirits in harmony. It’s the sound of The Black Crowes.
