Norwegian doom/death collective Miserate return with Weaver Of Witchery, a new EP arriving on vinyl on March 27th via Rekviem Records, continuing their exploration of bleak, slow-burning heaviness inspired by the early Peaceville catalog of the 1990s. The EP was mixed by Karl Daniel Lidén (Draconian, Bloodbath, Katatonia), whose signature depth and clarity amplify Miserate’s already formidable sound, while the striking artwork by Jan Gunnar Nygård perfectly reflects the band’s bleak and uncompromising vision. Listen to the title track here. Formed in Hamar and strengthened by members spread across Bergen, Oslo, and Kristiansand, Miserate are a true national collective. The band unites seasoned musicians with deep roots in the Scandinavian underground, featuring members from respected acts such as Syrach, The Crest, Funeral, To Cast a Shadow, and Shraphead. That lineage is unmistakable: this is doom and death metal crafted with conviction, patience, and an intimate understanding of the genre’s spirit. Miserate first announced their arrival with the debut EP A Ritual of Doom in 2024, immediately establishing their ability to balance crushing heaviness with bleak, sepulchral atmospheres. Now, with the new EP Weaver Of Witchery scheduled for a vinyl edition in 2026 via Rekviem Records (formerly Duplicate Records), the band are clearly building toward something even more imposing. Expect slower, heavier riffs and an unrelenting current of melancholy and menace that refuses to loosen its grip. Pre-orders are now available at this location.
