THE MIDNIGHT EXPAND THE CINEMATIC WORLD OF THEIR NEW ALBUM WITH SYNDICATE (& INSTRUMENTALS) — OUT NOW VIA ULTRA RECORDS |
SYNDICATE CD EDITIONS AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDER NOW |
New York, NY (December 5, 2025) — Acclaimed synth-pop duo The Midnight — Tyler Lyle and Tim McEwan — release Syndicate (& Instrumentals) today. It’s a full-length companion project showcasing the sweeping sonic architecture behind their new studio album Syndicate. Arriving via Ultra Records, the instrumental edition strips the 17-track record to its core: McEwan’s widescreen production, the band’s signature synthwave textures, and the atmospheric world-building that have made The Midnight one of the most influential voices in modern synth-pop. “Syndicate is our big, ambitious record that is as challenging as you want it to be,” shared Lyle. “There are many ways of hearing it. Sometimes it’s nice to strip off some of those layers and experience the story differently. There are stories inside stories, and so, from an impulse toward creative experimentation but also to show off our craft, we are very proud to present: Syndicate (& Instrumentals).” McEwan added, “Ever since our first record, our fans have loved having an instrumental version of our albums. Giving the community another option to experience the record is something we always look forward to” Available digitally today, Syndicate (& Instrumentals) highlights the album’s intricate arrangements and “apocalypse pop” palette, revealing new emotional contours beneath the vocals and narrative themes of the original release. From the shimmering neon pulse of “Shadowverse” to the noir-tinged tension of “Chariot,” each track becomes an immersive standalone piece, emphasizing The Midnight’s cinematic approach to composition. CD editions of Syndicate are also available today for pre-order exclusively through the band’s official store. Released in October, Syndicate marked The Midnight’s most ambitious project to date — a sprawling, two-years-in-the-making album exploring beauty at the edge of ruin. Its release coincided with the announcement of their massive Spring 2026 North American headline tour, The Midnight: Time Machines, following sold-out runs across the U.S., Europe, Australia, and India. With Syndicate (& Instrumentals), The Midnight invites listeners deeper into the record’s expansive universe—an essential new way to experience the duo’s boldest and most emotionally resonant work yet. |
