Royal Republic proudly present the grand and glorious finale of The Blastbeaters saga: a brand-new, over-the-top rendition of the Village People classic Go West’.

In true Royal Republic fashion, the band take this disco anthem and turn it into a towering power ballad, complete with a sweeping string section — a slow dance soaked in champagne, dipped in glitter, and served with just the right amount of irony.

With Go West, Royal Republic put the final diamond-studded stamp on their The Blastbeaters EP — a project that was never meant to exist, yet somehow grew into a full-blown celebration of musical chaos.

Because The Blastbeaters were never just a cover band — they were a fictitious Black Metal act gone wildly off the rails, reimagining pop classics like ‘Venus’, ‘I’m So Excited’, and ‘Stayin’ Alive’ with both sincerity and complete absurdity. What started as a joke spiralled into something beautifully, gloriously real.

The music video for ‘Go West’ premieres today at 5:00PM CET / 4:00PM GMT on Royal Republic’s official YouTube channel. It serves as the grand finale of The Blastbeaters storyline — tying together months of unhinged storytelling, costume changes, questionable decisions, and surprisingly heartfelt moments. Longtime fans can expect answers, explosions, and more hairspray than anyone asked for.

With Go West, Royal Republic officially bid farewell to The Blastbeaters, closing a chapter that somehow managed to blend Black Metal, pop nostalgia, and sheer theatrical nonsense into one glittering fever dream. Whatever comes next — it probably won’t make sense either, and that’s just how they like it.
