‘Bonfires’ is where it all began for Written By Wolves; the very first track the band ever wrote, a decade ago. A live favourite in their early days, it never saw an official release… until now.

To celebrate 10 years of Written By Wolves, the band have resurrected ‘Bonfires’ from the archives and given it a full 2025 reimagining; a cinematic high energy anthem that captures the spirit, urgency, and emotion that has defined their journey.

“‘Bonfires’ is the first track we ever wrote so it will always hold a special place in our hearts – we used to play it live a lot but when we started releasing songs in the early days of WBW we weren’t sure it quite stacked up with the other songs we were writing and releasing,” says vocalist Michael Murphy. “When the idea came up for our 10 year anniversary show and ‘The Archives’ we felt it was the perfect opportunity to breathe new life into a piece of Written By Wolves history and were excited by the challenge of revisiting a song from so long ago and seeing if we could bring it into line with where we are at as a band right now,” he adds.

Featuring on ‘The Archives’ – a physical re-release of their early material – ‘Bonfires’ bridges the past and present with a fresh, polished sound that’s built for modern rock radio. The accompanying music video, filmed at their sold-out 10th anniversary show at Auckland´s Q Theatre, showcases the raw power and connection that’s helped them surpass 100 million Spotify streams and build a global fanbase.

‘Bonfires’ is not just a song revived, it’s a celebration of resilience, evolution, and the fire that still burns brighter than ever.
