PRE-ORDER HERE Photo Credit: Andy Ford Kanadia have released their brand new single ‘I Can’t Feel The Sunlight’, the latest song to be taken from their forthcoming album The Fire That’s Tearing Through Our Home out on September 26th. ‘I Can’t Feel The Sunlight’ is a propulsive indie rock track reminiscent of the likes of The War On Drugs and Wolf Alice. The bright and moving song is about finding light within darkness and being content to live with aspects out of your control as frontman, guitarist and songwriter James Bettis explains: “This track feels like the most uplifting moment on our upcoming album. I remember staying up all night experimenting with these chords which had this hopeful, open quality to them. A lot of our songs have been born out of wrestling with mental health, using music as a kind of sounding board to process the weight of things. But with this one I felt something different—like I could finally let go, a sort of ‘what will be, will be’ feeling. Something I really needed to learn was that there are a lot of things in life you can and can’t control, and this song was my way of telling myself that. It also became a turning point for us creatively. With Chris Barker guiding the production, we discovered a new dynamic that gave the song its airy, uplifting energy.” The forthcoming album The Fire That’s Tearing Through Our Home is the third album from the alternative rock band completed by Melissa Marshall (synth/keys), Tim Lucas (drums) and Everton Barbato (bass). It has been recorded at Evolution Recording Studios in their Oxford hometown, produced by Willie J. Healey guitarist Chris Barker and mixed by Tom Leach (Lewis Capaldi, Pa Salieu, Spiritualized) at Snap Studios, London. Together they have created a record which showcases an abundance of dreamlike rich soundscapes, massive hooks, and haunting melodies throughout its expansive 50-minute journey examining the fragility and beauty of human emotion.
