West Virginia-native Charles Wesley Godwin is set to release his forthcoming album Live From The Steel City on September 26. The 23-song record chronicles Godwin’s expansive catalogue of road-tested acclaim. A preview of the larger project, Godwin will release a three-song sampler this Friday consisting of ‘Cue Country Roads’, ‘Family Ties’ and ‘Hardwood Floors’ – unforgettable pillars of his live show.

“I’m so pumped to share the live show the boys and I have curated in bars, clubs, theatres, amphitheaters, arenas and stadiums over the last several years,” Godwin shares. “There’s just something about the energy of a live crowd that you can’t replicate in a studio, and I think that shines through on this album in a big way. Stage AE was a special place to be on September 14, 2024, and come Sept. 26, 2025, everyone can experience it with us. Let’s go!”

Highlighting Godwin’s “rough-hewn textured voice” (Billboard), the live album was recorded at his sold-out show at Stage AE outdoors in Pittsburgh, Pa. Live From The Steel City will feature songs from his most recent studio album Family Ties (2023), like ‘All Again’, ‘Another Leaf’ and ‘Miner Imperfections’; tracks from 2021’s How The Mighty Fall (‘Jesse’, ‘Temporary Town’, ‘Strong’) and breakout favourites from Seneca (2019) including ‘Hardwood Floors’, ‘Seneca Creek’ and more. The album is complete with a cover of Tyler Childers’ ‘Whitehouse Road’ and John Denver’s iconic ‘Take Me Home, Country Roads’.

This week Godwin will take the stage twice during AMERICANAFEST – tonight at 3rd and Lindsley for an acoustic set, and tomorrow at Skydeck with his band The Allegheny High for Big Loud’s AMERICANAFEST takeover. His touring schedule throughout the year includes a headlining run with a sold-out stop at Red Rocks Amphitheatre next month, alongside dates supporting Eric Church. For more information and full tour routing visit charleswgodwin.com.
