Tokyo’s metalcore kings Sable Hills return with their crushing new single “Godforsaken,” a blistering collaboration with none other than John Henry of American metal legends Darkest Hour. The track unleashes everything fans have come to expect from Sable Hills—razor-sharp riffs, pummeling grooves, and a chorus that burns itself into memory — while Henry’s unmistakable voice adds an extra layer of intensity and grit.
With their last album Odyssey surpassing one million streams, the band has firmly established itself as one of Japan’s most exciting heavy exports. Beyond their studio work, Sable Hills have built an impressive legacy on stage. In 2022, they made history as the first Japanese band to ever win the Wacken Metal Battle, returning the following year to perform at the legendary German festival’s main stages. Their growing festival résumé includes appearances at Brutal Assault, Knotfest, BLARE FEST, Bloodaxe Festival, and True North Festival, alongside multiple sold-out headline shows in Tokyo, including a packed night at Spotify O-WEST.
Never ones to simply follow the scene, Sable Hills also created their own FRONTLINE FESTIVAL, an annual self-curated event that has already drawn nearly 1,000 fans to Kawasaki’s Club Citta, uniting local talent and international acts under one roof.
With “Godforsaken,” Sable Hills once again prove why they are a driving force in the global metalcore landscape. Blending Japanese precision with international ambition, the band continues to rise from the underground into worldwide recognition — fearless, uncompromising, and unstoppable.
