Between her debut EP ‘Secondary Character’ and the recent singles ‘Burning Bridges’, ‘Wednesday’s Child’ and ‘Cut The Breaks’, the emerging alt-pop artist EMMMA has been inspiring excited comparisons to the likes of Chappell Roan, Holly Humberstone and Phoebe Bridgers. Now that buzz is set to translate into IRL discovery with the news that EMMMA will support Pale Waves on their upcoming ‘Still Smitten’ UK and Ireland tour.
EMMMA says, “I am so excited to announce that I’ll be opening for Pale Waves around the UK and Ireland this October. They’re such an incredible band and I am so honoured to be supporting them. I’ll be performing some music that has been released, as well as some unreleased music that I am so excited to share with everyone! Can’t wait to see everyone out there.”
EMMMA recently provided a taste of her performances with a special four-song live set that was boosted with imaginative choreography and body movement to heighten the impact of her songwriting. The set features two upcoming singles in the shape of ‘Whiplash’ and ‘Cards’.
Raised in the small coastal town of Westport, Connecticut, EMMMA has been compelled to perform music, write songs and tell stories from a young age. The ‘Secondary Character’ EP used warm, imaginative alt-pop soundscapes as the vehicle for her to address the parts of her personality that have held her back, starting a voyage of introspection which took her from self-doubt to a new-found and empowered confidence.
Her latest singles suggest that her upcoming second EP will continue that sense of self-analysis from a different angle. The recurring theme running through them is that self-worth is an ongoing journey of tough decisions and hard emotions. The reward is greater than any quick fix.
EMMMA’s goal with her latest releases was to write songs on a bigger scale that would come to life as she grows into bigger venues – and that ambition is now set to begin to be realised.
Tickets for the tour are available HERE. In addition to the dates listed below, EMMMA is also confirmed to play Camden’s new multi-venue festival Lock In on September 12th, please see HERE for more information and ticket details.
