Baltimore’s rock powerhouse Dead Eyes are set to drop their explosive new single “Black Hole Heart” on Friday, August 1st via Thriller Records. More than just a standalone release, the track also kicks off the official announcement of their upcoming full-length album Black Hole Heart, due out on October 10th, with pre-orders going live with the single release. With themes of gravitational pull and the tendency to wreck what we hold closest, this release marks a turning point for Dead Eyes and sets the stage for what might be their most powerful chapter yet.

On the new single, Dead Eyes mentions:

“Some hearts beat. This one pulls. “Black Hole Heart” is a song we loved so much, we pushed ourselves to the edge trying to get it right; and it’s about that kind of love—the kind that consumes, that smothers, that burns too hot to hold onto. In that way, it became the perfect centerpiece for the album—because it nearly disappeared under the weight of how much making a great record meant to us.”

DEAD EYES – BLACK HOLE HEART

“Black Hole Heart” became the song that captured what Dead Eyes had been struggling to articulate throughout the creative process, that sometimes loving something means destroying it. The song confronts that sinking realization when the intensity meant to safeguard what you love becomes what ultimately tears it apart. Dead Eyes found themselves living this paradox while creating the track itself, pushing so hard for perfection that they nearly suffocated the song they loved most. It became the perfect metaphor for what they’d been going through and the central question haunting the record, how do you hold something close without breaking it?

The upcoming album builds around “Black Hole Heart” as its gravitational center, with every other song pulling toward this central confession about the impossibility of loving without risk. The track serves as both the emotional anchor and the creative breakthrough that shaped the entire album, showing Dead Eyes is willing to confront their most destructive tendencies. The record confronts the reality of being someone who breaks what they hold close while examining what happens when your capacity for love becomes your capacity for ruin.
