Bailey Tomkinson & The Locals bring a contemporary Cornish flair to the classic Californian style of Stevie NicksDaisy Jones & The Six and ‘Almost Famous’. It’s an intoxicating sound that has led to ongoing BBC Introducing support, with recent backing including being named in their Ones To Watch For 2025, inclusion in their International Women’s Day coverage, and a set at The English Riviera Airshow. They’re taking flight in the live arena too, following gigs as guests to Keane and Sheryl Crow. Now Bailey Tomkinson & The Locals soar into summer with the new single ‘Supermoon’Listen HERE.

‘Supermoon’ is a confessional folk-pop single that taps into the complicated corners of modern relationships. It’s about the moment you catch yourself noticing someone else, or “window shopping”, even when you’re happily committed. It’s just a matter of instinct… but one that can lead to insecurity. That playful, honest and uncomfortably relatable theme is enveloped in a warm sound, which sees the band leaning confidently into their Laurel Canyon and heartland rock roots. Dreamy ‘80s guitars and glistening sax spark summer pop with a retro feel that will appeal to fans of Taylor SwiftHaim and Maggie Rogers.

Bailey says, “‘Supermoon’ puts words to the things we all feel but rarely say — that quiet, guilty moment of noticing someone else, even when you’re happy in your relationship.”

The idea behind the song also takes on more resonance with the band’s own story. Bailey and guitarist Jordan Lee Collinsare engaged, but as they joke they know how to navigate the pitfalls of being a couple in a band due to their love of Fleetwood Mac.

The Locals are completed by Tadhg Cullen (bass), Callum Masters (drums) and Daniel Woodfield (saxophone). Sharing a love of artists such as The EaglesFleetwood MacSheryl CrowSam Fender, Bruce Springsteen, America and Neil Young, the band possess an intuitive connection that feels more like a family than a mere collection of musicians. It’s talent that they have showcased at festivals such as Black DeerBoardmastersWildernessThe Long Road and The Great Escape.

Having recently headlined a London show at Fiddler’s Elbow, Bailey Tomkinson & The Locals are set to continue their summer touring at September Festival (September 21st) and Kernowfornia Festival (September 27th). Bailey will also play a series of stripped back solo sets across Cornwall, while the band are now plotting a major autumn UK headline tour and EP release.
