| South African Piano Doom / Experimental artist and singer-songwriter CHARLES EAST released his first album, “Dislocated,” on December 17th, 2024 via Brucia Records. Today CHARLES EAST unveils the official video for the song “Damnation,” written and directed by the artist himself. The single is a truly fantastic showcase of talent and personality – simultaneously gloomy and assaulting, spasmodically shifting from tender to desperate to furious fits of rage and anger. Much like the album, the song is phenomenally powerful, both visceral and funereal, and elegantly combines CHARLES EAST fantastically nuanced piano music with a mix of Post-Punk, Goth Rock and Doom Metal. By this point in the album there has been a great purge, an ejection that has left this person motionless, formless, without distinction, as he struggles to find something to latch on to. The video comes as an afterthought, a sign of tenacity and continuation.
