“If the thing you’re doing scares you, then you’re on the right track.”
Susanna Alexandra says, and she’s not wrong.
The latest full-length offering from Cyan Kicks, 2023’s “I Never Said 4ever”, was born out of the deep dive of memories collected during formative years as early 20-somethings for the Helsinki natives. Their distinct autobiographical writing style envelopes all of the honesty, strength, disillusionment, restlessness, dazzling highs and bittersweet lows of one trying to navigate a new life and what yet lies ahead.
Today the band announce a full EU co-headline tour with Autumn Kings, alongside the recently announced UK appearances Radar Festival and 2000 Trees Festival next Summer.
The band’s inherent transformative ability to delve into vulnerabilities whilst providing a voice of true fortitude speaks strongly to the Finns deep-rooted inner strength and sense of self, simply known as “Sisu”.
Long-lasting relationships often form the strongest of bonds and, since their first full formation back in 2016, lead songwriters Susanna Alexandra and Niila Perkkio (vocals and guitar), together with bassist Leevi Erkkila and drummer Pietari Reijonen have cultivated a dedicated international fanbase based on their unique vivid dream-rock sound, claiming a space all their own within the alternative world.
