The song is the start of a full transition into the rock space, with Doobie planning to drop a full rock album in the near future. He describes the project as some of the best music he’s created, and is excited to bring his own twist to the rock genre.
“‘Early Bird Gets the Whiskey’ has brought on a lot of firsts for me,” the artist states. “It’s my first single in the rock space. It was the first record I collaborated with Andrew Baylis and Conor Matthews. It was also my first time working with Patrick Tohill, who directed the music video. They all helped me bring an even bigger vision to life for this record than I had ever imagined.”
Throughout his career, Doobie has stayed true to his own experiences, using his music to tell his story. His battle with addiction and life struggles have shaped his lyrics, making his songs deeply personal. Avoiding typical industry collaborations, Doobie has produced most of his music himself, keeping his work as raw and reflective as possible. With his upcoming rock release and continued momentum as an independent artist, Doobie is ready to expand his legacy. Proud of how far he’s come, he sees his success as the payoff for taking the harder path and putting in the work. As the first independent artist from his city to go platinum, Doobie’s journey is just getting started.
