October 25, 2024 – Platinum certified alt-pop trio Coyote Theory are thrilled to release their single “Waiting On The Weather” via their new label home, Nettwerk Music Group. The tune’s funk riff and swaggering beat ignite the irresistible and insatiable refrain, “I need it more than ever. I’m feeling overwhelmed. You’re waiting on the weather. I can’t control myself.” Listen HERE.
“Sometimes it gets hard to hype ourselves up, and this song kinda lives in that headspace of it’s ok to feel like I can’t win right now,” explains Coyote Theory drummer Jayson.
“Waiting On The Weather” follows the band’s previous singles “How We Live Now,” an uptempo song about life during the pandemic, and “Maryland,” an honest and raw track about letting go. Stay tuned for more information about Coyote Theory’s forthcoming album by following the band on socials.
Hailing from Orlando, FL, Coyote Theory—Colby Carpinelli [lead vocals, piano], Jayson Lynn [drums, percussion], and Grayson Hendren [bass, guitar]—lean on their longtime union for strength and inspiration, anchoring an ever-evolving hybrid of alternative, indie, and pop punctuated by just the right amount of jazz. They unlocked chemistry during marathon jam sessions as kids, and 2011 saw the group unveil their debut Color EP, produced by James Paul Wisner (Paramore, Dashboard Confessional). After three years of grinding extensively, the members agreed to pause the band, yet their friendship flourished. By 2019, Colby, Jayson, and Grayson collectively experienced an itch to write and record again, and conversations commenced. Though the Pandemic slowed the initial plan, the Color standout “This Side of Paradise” organically exploded on TikTok fueled by posts from the likes of mega-influencer and platinum star Bella Poarch. Following a re-release of the initial EP, “This Side of Paradise” surged, generating over 600 million streams globally and over 2 billion uses on TikTok, knocking Cardi B’s W.A.P. off the Spotify Global Viral Charts and reaching platinum status. Throughout 2022, they parlayed this momentum into the Late Night EP and Live From the Babcock EP. Tallying over 1 billion streams and garnering an audience from a new generation, the group’s reason for doing what they do hasn’t changed on their most recent batch of music.
“Our reason for making music hasn’t changed over all this time,” adds Colby. “One person connecting to our music and benefiting in some way — that’s enough to keep us writing more.”
