In the midst of their stacked headline Decade of the Swarm Tour, Pittsburgh, PA Deathcore unit SIGNS OF THE SWARM have dropped new single ‘IWONTLETYOUDIE’ — their first original music since 2023’s breakout LP Amongst the Low & Empty. The new video was directed and edited by Eric DiCarlo of SquareUp Studios, and the song was once again produced by Josh Schroeder, whose subwoofer HAS been replaced since that album blew it on its would-be first full in-studio playback. Rumour has it he’s treating listening sessions of ‘IWONTLETYOUDIE’ with caution — something the band didn’t do while writing the song.

“‘IWONTLETYOUDIE’ marks the beginning of a new chapter for Signs: a story of an endless cycle of death and resurrection,” reveals SIGNS OF THE SWARM drummer and main songwriter Bobby Crow“We like to use the time between albums to explore new ideas and sounds. We did this on the ultra-heavy ‘Unbridled’, the more moshy ‘The Collection’ (featuring guest shouts from Kublai Khan’s Matt Honeycutt and Molotov Solution’s Nick Arthur), and the eerily melodic crusher ‘Pernicious’. ‘IWONTLETYOUDIE’ touches on all of those and more; our goal was to channel the energy of deathcore that got us excited about it in our younger year, so expect the explosiveness of Amongst the Low & Empty but so much more!”

Fans have been getting a sneak peak on SIGNS OF THE SWARM‘s monstrous (and aptly-named) headlining Decade of the Swarm Tour, which is currently underway. The North American run collides SIGNS OF THE SWARM with nu metalcore trailblazers Cane Hill, fast-rising blackened deathcore blasphemers Ov Sulfur (fronted by Ricky Hoover, formerly of Suffokate), nu metallic hardcore moshers 156/Silence and eldritch blackened deathcore ghouls A Wake In Providence, who add a more gothic take on the genre.

European audiences will be next to hear the song live. The Pins and Knuckles Merch Faces of Death Tour features SIGNS OF THE SWARM‘s djent-laden deathcore with Sumeriancore pioneers Veil Of Maya, plus the co-headlining duo joined by fellow PA pit pugilists Varials and vegan deathcore butchers To The Grave.

ABOUT SIGNS OF THE SWARM:
Produced by Josh Schroeder (Lorna ShoreKing 810TallahVarials), SIGNS OF THE SWARM‘s latest full-length offering, Amongst the Low & Empty, is the first SIGNS OF THE SWARM album to feature an outside producer. “We’ve always been a deathcore band”, states Bobby Crow“But this record is a lot MORE – it’s got death metal, metalcore, djent, some industrial stuff…We wanted to make something that was just heavy.”Purchase and stream Amongst the Low & Empty now here.Massive, unapologetic and unrelenting in its assault, this fifth full-length keeps listeners on the edge of their seat. Songs like the title track, ‘Pray For Death’ and ‘Malady’ put to shame the slamming ‘br00tality’ of sophomore LP The Disfigurement of Existence, with vocalist David Simonich’s animalistic growls and screeches outdoing any swarm, pack, or otherwise, found in the wild. Despite the savage brutality, the leader of this herd IS the structure that is simultaneously more rigid yet more explorative, complete with a catchy groove underneath – the likes of which hasn’t been heard from SIGNS OF THE SWARM. It’s the bedrock that allows ‘Tower of Torsos’, ‘DREAMKILLER’ and ‘Pray For Death’ to be as catchy as they are. Songs like ‘Shackles Like Talons’ and ‘Fire and Stone’ split the difference incisively. Trivium mastermind Matthew K. Heafy even sent over a guest shout for ‘The Witch Beckons’.
