For more detail about the creation of their new EP, here is downcast frontman Liam Edwards: “Our new EP is a collection of songs that reflect on the events of the past couple of years. It explores feelings of nostalgia, anger, romance and grief. The title is inspired by those moments where you look back at how simple and carefree your life used to be and wonder what happened.” While on their new single “raincheck”, Edwards had this to say: “‘raincheck’ is a love song with a hint of angst about my own mistakes and being stuck in a day job that I hated.” The announcements of WTF HAPPENED and “raincheck” come hot on the heels of last weeks’ news that downcast are embarking on their first UK headline tour since May 2023 in the Autumn. Liam, Ben, Jeff and Sam are heading out for a run of shows across England and Wales in September. Kicking off in Plymouth, they’ll head up to Cardiff and Manchester before finishing off at the Hope and Anchor in London. Support for the Plymouth show will come from GURL, with support for the other shows will be announced in the future.
