In February 2023, experimental metal band See You Next Tuesday returned with Distractions, their first new album in 15 years. On February 16th, 2024, the band will release Relapses, an electronic-forward re-edit of Distractions, through Good Fight Music. In creating Relapses, See You Next Tuesday multi-instrumentalist and producer Drew Slavik lead the charge, revitalizing the songs into something totally different and bringing collaborators on board. Today, the band shares “The Other Side,” which was created by James Hammontree of Black Magnet using elements of “I Had the Craziest Dream.” The song is a mix of drum and bass style EDM and industrial metal. James’s use of the original guitar tracks and vocals bring all the aggression to the track, while the added synths and percussion have an almost 90’s Prodigy like energy. You can listen to it HERE and watch a music video featuring tour footage HERE. See You Next Tuesday have also announced a U.S. headline tour kicking off April 19th in Pontiac, MI. Joining the band on select dates will be labelmates MouthBreather, Mutilatred, Noisy Neighbors, Implosive Disgorgance, and THIN. You can find the detailed full routing below, and tickets are on sale HERE.
Inspired by Fear Factory’s 1997 remix album Remanufacture, the songs on Relapses use components of the songs from Distractions to create an original record. You’ll hear See You Next Tuesday’s blend of experimental metal and grindcore, combined with industrial, electronic, and avant-garde noise. For the album, the band worked with a number of artists on creating the tracks, including Thotcrime, ZOMBIESHARK!, John Cxnnor, and more. The band announced the record with a video for two tracks, “Repeating Patterns” feat. Kyle Medina of Bodysnatcher and “The Sweetest Pot” feat. Rich Lombardi of The Sawtooth Grin. The final track on the record, “The Gold Room,” is a totally new creation, made with metal/mathcore band Frontierer. Relapses vinyl is up for preorder now through Good Fight Music. See You Next Tuesday is Drew Slavik – Guitar, Chris Fox – Vocals, Rick Woods – Bass, James Watson – Drums
