2024 TOUR DATES SUPPORTING TYLER CHILDERS ALSO ANNOUNCED
NASHVILLE, TN. / LONDON, U.K. – (Sept. 29, 2023) – 49 Winchester released two brand new recordings of fan favourites ‘Everlasting Lover’ and ‘Chemistry’ today (listen here), and dropped an EU exclusive vinyl variant at Rough Trade, limited to 100 copies, featuring a bonus flexi of the new version of ‘Everlasting Lover’.
Originally appearing on their self-released 2020 album III, the new studio recordings feature the band’s current 6-member lineup. 49 Winchester frontman Isaac Gibson said, “For us, these are two songs that have taken on new life as we’ve fleshed them out on the road these past few years. They were brand new at the time of the original recording and we felt like we had grown so much sonically as a band, that they deserved to have that new life breathed into them and recorded for the world to hear.”
Also available today is the new video for ‘Everlasting Lover‘, directed by Thomas Crabtree. Gibson says, “The stars of the video, Paul Handelman, who was an Army Ranger and a great friend of mine, and his wife Chelsey, really made it what it is. We wanted the video to reflect the lyrics of the song, and paint a picture of a love story, and the struggle that often comes along with that love in the real world. It’s a story about how having someone to lean on can change your life, and even save it. They did a fantastic job capturing that.”

49 Winchester have been on the road for the past year in support of their critically acclaimed New West Records debut Fortune Favors the Bold. The album debuted at #7 on the Billboard Top New Artist Chart, #7 on the Billboard Current Country Chart, and #10 on the Billboard Folk Americana Chart as well. Met with overwhelming critical acclaim, Rolling Stone called them “Country Music’s Buzziest of Buzz Bands,” and also named the album one of the “25 Best Country and Americana Albums of 2022.” Bandcamp named Fortune Favors the Bold one of the “Best Country Records of 2022,” as did No Depression, Holler, PopMatters, Whiskey Riff, WMOT, and more. The album has quickly generated over 80 million global streams and over 35 million global streams for the single “Russell County Line.” The band also received a nomination for “Best Duo or Group” at this year’s Americana Music Awards.
49 Winchester have steadily become a must-see live act and will appear as direct support for Luke Combs’ European World Tour launching tomorrow (30/9) in Oslo, Norway. The 14-date trek will conclude with a 2-Night Stand at London’s O2 Arena and the band’s own sold-out headline show in London at Lafayette on October 22.
Gibson said, “Luke is someone whose music and approach we’ve admired for years. We are beyond grateful and excited to hit the road with him in Europe, and take the 49 show worldwide on the biggest stages of our career.”
The band will also support Tyler Childers on four arena dates next April, including two nights at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, TN. They will also perform with Zach Bryan, Billy Strings, Turnpike Troubadours, and Charley Crockett at the Buckeye Country Superfest in Columbus, OH in June as well – full tour dates below.
49 Winchester have been selected as a Spotify “Hot Country Artist to Watch in 2023” and an Apple Music “Country Riser of 2022.” Fender also named the band to their Fender Next program which is designed to support emerging artists that represent the new face of guitar in music and culture. On September 12, the band released an exclusive Apple Music Session featuring a fresh take on their song ‘Hays, Kansas’. The session also included two incredible covers of Stevie Wonder’s ‘Superstition’ and Bobby Charles’ ‘Street People’ as well.
Formed on Winchester Street in the small mountain town of Castlewood, Virginia (population: 2,045), 49 Winchester started as a group of neighborhood teenage friends set on a calculated DIY path. In 2014 they independently released their eponymous debut, followed by 2018’s The Wind, and 2020’s celebrated III. Reflecting on his early days as a jack-of-all-trades stone mason, where it was about trying to make ends meet in an effort to keep the band rolling along, frontman Gibson can’t help but be grateful for a well-earned notion at the core of the band’s ethos — anything worthwhile in life is built brick-by-brick. “Everything has to be built. And very few people are going to achieve success overnight,” says Gibson. “We didn’t start out as a bunch of hot shot pickers out of Nashville. We started out on the ground floor — very basic songwriting and instrumentation. But we kept working at it, always progressing in what we wanted to do and how we wanted to sound — each song better than the previous one, the show this evening better than last night.”
49 Winchester’s Fortune Favors The Bold is available NOW via New West Records.
