SCREAM WILL TOUR WITH SOULSIDE THIS FALL

Prior to the release of their newest album, DC Special, the legends of DC are joining forces with Soulside to tour the West and East Coasts of the US
Following their European tour, Scream will join forces with Soulside, celebrating the release of their newest LP, DC Special – coming out this fall on Dischord Records.
“The seeds for this collaborative tour, which we are calling This Side West and This Side East were planted last year when we traveled to Europe to play with Soulside as part of a showcase of DC Music and Dischord Records at the Different Sounds Festival in Lublin, Poland,” explains Peter Stahl. While both bands have followed their own paths from Dischord Records and the DC scene of the 80s, they share an ethic and foundation. “We find Soulside to be a truly inspiring band that lights a fire under us, which is why we wanted to tour with them,” Stahl continues. “Our love for our musical community and pride in what we have accomplished as bands brings us together to represent and rock together. We look forward to move people and make them think and smile and send them home happy.”
Ticket sales for the upcoming tour open on Friday, July 21. Follow Scream on Facebook and Instagram to get the details.

BIO:
Scream is an American hardcore punk band from Washington, DC that formed in 1979 within the vanguard of the Washington DC hardcore explosion. Known for their incendiary live performances – an urgent mix of punk and rock-and-roll swagger – the original lineup is vocalist Pete Stahl, guitarist Franz Stahl, bassist Enoch “Skeeter” Thompson, and drummer Kent Stacks. Scream will be presenting a different lineup on their European tour this summer with illustrious UK guitarist Gizz Butt joining them on stage and fellow Washingtonian and renowned drummer Scott Garrett filling in for Kent Stacks.
Scream’s debut album, Still Screaming (1982)was the first LP on DC’s Dischord Records, followed by This Side Up in 1984. The band toured throughout the US and were one of the first US hardcore bands to tour Europe and the UK. In 1987, they released Banging the Drum, which was recorded at Southern Studios in London by John Loder. In 1988, No More Censorship was released on reggae label RAS Records. The album was the first to feature drummer Dave Grohl, who replaced Kent Stacks for both this album and Fumble, which was released on Dischord Records in 1993. Until now, the band’s most recent release was Complete Control Sessions in 2011. Scream’s newest album, DC Special, will be released in the fall of 2023 on Dischord Records.
