Buzzing Swedish alternative artist Boy Destroy is back with his punk pop banger ‘NO SLEEP’ today via Warner Music Sweden. ‘NO SLEEP’ is a guitar-driven, strong chorus track combining Boy Destroys’s signature gloomy lyrics and brutal honesty. The track is taken from his new EP, due for release in September 2023.
In tandem with the release, Boy Destroy is currently on a big sold out tour around Sweden supporting Swedish Grammy award winning rock duo Johnossi.
Since his 2021 debut EP ‘Warpaint’, Boy Destroy has been making waves for his transgressive and genre-fusing approach to the alternative music scene, with critics noting his forward-thinking nature and candid lyricism. His strong lyrics are combined with music influenced by 90’s alternative rock like Nirvana and The Smashing Pumpkins as well as delving into legacy artists like Jeff Buckley and Joni Mitchell alongside modern emo, trap and hip hop. Boy Destroy covers harsh yet beautiful realities surrounding addiction, sorrow, deception and dishonesty.
Self-describing his music as “tears on paper…a morbid mind trying to make sense of the unknown”, his magnetising and arcane-like presence is drawing in fans across the media landscape including BBC Radio 1’s Jack Saunders, Apple Music Radio’s Travis Mills (MVP), Alternative Press, Rock Sound, Kerrang, Louder Sound, Wonderland, 1883, Upset Magazine, Discovered Magazine and Gigwise.

“‘NO SLEEP’ is about a feeling of wanting to burn out at an inexplicable rate because you can’t stand being yourself. When you need to take something to get up in the morning and something else to get to sleep at the end of the day. I used to reason with myself that It’s a prison but at least it’s a prison of my own choosing.
