Hot on the heels of previous single ‘We Keep Each Other Warm Like Penguins’, Glasgow quartet Nasty Nesto and the Sadbois are back with their new single ‘Oigame Compai’, the final taste of new material before their debut album Horses Severed Head drops later this month. In true Sadbois fashion, the track is a loose and woozy romp that falls somewhere in between deeper Libertines cuts and the anarchic gypsy punk of Golgol Bordello, an understated organ fleshing the track out perfectly. Clocking in at just over three minutes, the track’s described by the band as being about “growing up isolated and unsupported, relying on the underground scene to get through the rough times”. It’s a fitting subject matter for the band, who not only care deeply about the musical scene and community they’re part of, but are helping shape and support themselves, proving that Nasty Nesto and the Sadbois are not only benefiting from the scene, but actively giving back to it also. True DIY sensibilities from a band who seem to embody the word and all it compasses. |
