JULY 21, 2022 – LOS ANGELES, CA – Rule-breaking and genre-bending artist Lauren Sanderson has surprised fans with a new single this week. The ballad “nothing lasts forever” has an anthemic chorus with a slight acoustic country twang. Fans can stream the track and watch a special accompanying video today at https://ffm.to/nothinglasts. “nothing lasts forever” is pulled from Sanderson’s upcoming sophomore LP Death Of A Fantasy, out July 29. In her introspective yet dynamic second LP, she grapples with what it means to take responsibility for herself and her happiness—even if it means cutting out the things that make her most comfortable. It’s been a seemingly short two years since her 2020 debut album Midwest Kids Can Make It Big — a nod to her Indiana roots — but Sanderson hasn’t broken her stride. Having opened for FINNEAS and Chase Atlantic in 2019, her Death Of A Fantasy headline tour took her through the whole of the US in May of 2022, including performances at Irving Plaza and El Rey. Now that it’s been road tested, Sanderson wants this new era to be about confronting the highs and lows of life. It’s only fitting that the majority of the album’s songs were borne out of the isolation of the COVID pandemic. “I’ve always used my music as journal entries,” Sanderson says. “I wasn’t knowingly making an album; I was just documenting my feelings. One day I started putting the songs together and realized they were the perfect time capsule to define this transformative era of my life.” Lauren Sanderson turned heads in 2019 opening for FINNEAS & has steadily built a loyal cult following thanks to her no-holds-barred honesty, relentless DIY work ethic and electric persona. MTV, Billboard, Zane Lowe’s Beats 1, Alt Press, NPR, Cosmopolitan & Spotify’s New Music Friday have all signed on in support of her swirling, intoxicating blend of rock, pop, hip-hop and R&B, imbued with the same charisma & conviction that got her a TED Talk at the age of 19. While her acclaimed 2020 debut full-length, Midwest Kids Can Make It Big, was brimming with wide-eyed wonder, the LA-via-Indiana singer/songwriter is swinging big in 2022.
