Last night: Frank Carter & Dean Richardson meet fans and friends at London launch event for new creative project, Halves

Frank Carter & Dean Richardson, the creative partnership behind the nation’s favourite punk rock and roll band, Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, met fans and friends at London’s Draughts Cafe last night (20.07.22) to celebrate the launch of their new card game Halves on Kickstarter.

Arriving at 18:45 last night amid a break from their busy touring schedule, Frank and Dean took over London board game cafe, Draughts (Arch 16 Leake St, London SE1) where a crowd of fans and friends received a sneak preview of Halves, many of them playing a game with the band themselves.

Speaking on the night, Frank Carter said: “We’ve had a lot of fun with Halves over the years so it’s great to see people here tonight laughing and enjoying it as we have. We haven’t had the chance to see this many games played at once so it’s really exciting. Tonight is a celebration. We’ve managed to bring a dream to life. People are flabbergasted when we tell them we’ve made a card game. We’ve achieved something that we didn’t think was possible.”

Dean Richardson added: “Early on with one of the first prototypes we played with the band Demob Happy and it was the first time we saw someone do things strategy-wise that we would never have imagined. I’m excited to see people get good at it and really become masters of the game.”

Halves is a word game for the ruthless, invented by Frank and Dean on a flight during their first ever tour as Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes. Six years, four prototypes and hundreds of games later and Halves is ready to play. For more information see the attached press release.

Describing the game, Frank says: “It’s a party game, based around words, to play with your friends, so you can find out at the end of the night who’s actually your friend.”
