3 IS THE MAGIC NUMBERA podcast that asks its guests to talk about their 3 favourite things, and with those subjects being anything they like. Hosted by journalist

Matt vs Remfry episode
New for this season are also a special ‘podcast vs podcast’ episode, this time with Giles Bidder from the 101 Part Time Jobs podcast, as well as a couples episode from Sammy Urwin and Justine Jones from the band Employed To Serve and Church Road Records.
The podcast will also run free audio adverts each episode for independent record labels, an idea championed by the podcast to give something back to the sector they both work in.
The podcast was started mainly as a creative outlet for the pair during the 2020/2021 COVID lockdowns and restrictions, with a desire to make something that also involved talking to other human beings. “I am sure it is absolutely a cliche” Matt explains, “start a podcast in lockdown. But i personally really needed it. I needed to be working on and building ‘something’, and ideally with people I liked talking to and found interesting to listen to. The fact Remfry, a good friend and a journalist and podcaster I admired and fully respected, was up for it, was a real turning point. I then bought a mic, a recording device and we started booking guests straight away.”
Remfry adds “Working with Matt on Season 1 of 3 is the Magic Number has been one of the great pleasures of my career in podcasting. If Season 1 was the equivalent of us dipping our collective toe into the ocean, Season 2 sees us holding hands and leaping head-first into a vast ocean of hot chat”
Season 1 aired in 2022 and had conversations with the likes of Radio 1 DJ Daniel P Carter on his Top 3 Forgotten Gems Of The 90’s, musician Frank Turner on his Top 3 Comedy Ensembles and with radio DJ Sophie K on her Top 3 Cult TV Shows. The podcast Season ends, as it does on Season 2, with a podcast host ‘VS’ episode, with Season 1 having Remfry and Matt do battle over the Top 3 Debut Albums.
3 IS THE MAGIC NUMBER will have new episodes every Monday from 8am, ending its run on April 17th 2023. Also look out for the 3 IS THE MAGIC NUMBER live shows, with info coming very soon for summer 2023.
