Just one year following the release of his critically lauded debut album “The Great Mist Within”, Ayloss from Spectral Lore and Mystras fame is prepared to return with his second Auriferous Flame record titled “Ardor for Black Mastery”, which is set to be released on October 6 via True Cult Records and Stellar Auditorium. According to Ayloss, while the first Auriferous Flame album was a more spontaneous recording that should be perhaps looked at as an early manifestation of intentions, “Ardor for Black Mastery” is an album that has been intensely in the works for the greatest part of 2023 and it represents a new kind of focus; venturing into a more black/thrash metal approach. The album’s first advance track “Beyond Light, Beyond Reason” premiered today at Decibel Magazine, who had this to say about this new album “Venturing into the world of black/thrash metal, Auriferous Flame‘s bludgeoning riff-fest is reminiscent of days of yore, when “black/thrash metal” meant being unbridled and absolutely ridiculous more so than re-stealing a handful of Mustaine’s riffs over a blast beat.” Listen to “Beyond Light, Beyond Reason” here. |
