UK four piece rock act Temples On Mars are pleased to announce the release of a new single, “Sleepwalking into Extinction”, on the 20th May 2022. The single will be the first song taken from the bands forthcoming new studio album to be released in late 2022. The single is another slice of alt prog rock perfection from Temples On Mars. Driving rhythms and riffs overlaid with an instantly infectious vocal melody. The single is the first material since the “Parallels V.1” EP that was released in July 2020. The EP saw the band try a few new things and started to develop a darker more electronic side to their sound – which is expanded upon on the forthcoming album. Due to drum recording issues caused by Covid-19. Josh Freese (A Perfect Circle, Nine Inch Nails, Sting) played drums on the single. The band had shortlisted Josh to record live drums, a demo was sent to him and he was into it. The guitars and bass were recorded at various private studios in London and Josh did the drums from his home studio in LA. James worked on the vocals with long time collaborator Paul Matthews (I Am Giant) and mixing and production done by Darren Carikas at Ghost Machine Studios. The record was mastered by Ted Jensen (Architects, Bring me the Horizon, Gojira) at Sterling Sound in New York. Temples On Mars say, “We are over the moon to finally be back with our brand new single “Sleepwalking into Extinction”. This is the first single from our brand new record, “The Plot to Murder Time”, and the song explores the subject that as a species humans are destroying each other along with our beautiful planet. We are all so glued to the alternative reality that we have built for ourselves to fill the time between birth and death that we are quite literally collectively sleepwalking into extinction.” |
