NME“STONE are the post-punks with a reputation for mosh-pit starting licks and the snarling delivery of frontman Fin Power”
Rolling Stone UK“Full throttle and immediate but undeniably powerful – from a band that must be seen live to be truly believed. Expect venues around the country to be shaking in anticipation.”
Dork
“A perfect post-pandemic band…raucous live shows and playfully rowdy indie bangers”

STONE releases ‘Left Right Forward’ today, the latest single from the Liverpool four-piece on which a driving guitar line reminiscent of The Clash and stream-of-consciousness style lyricism alchemise into another mosh-ready track. The new single follows ‘I Let Go’, a track which kicked off 2023 for the band who are freshly home from an extensive European tour playing to massive crowds in support of The Kooks. STONE will kick off their headline tour with two sold out shows in London’s Omeara, heading to stages across the UK including a sold out hometown headline show at Liverpool’s O2 Academy. The band will also start their festival run this year with an appearance at The Great Escape in May, full live dates below and tickets here.
With their formidable live reputation preceding them, STONE have stormed straight out of the new-era Liverpool scene. Their breakout 12 months was capped off by the release of debut EP offering Punkadonk in December last year, which fuses thrilling, frenetic rock with a more intimate exploration of the Gen-Z experience. The band explain that ‘Left Right Forward’ is their most carefree track to date, with frontperson Fin Power elaborating; “Our drummer Alex sent me the instrumental to ‘Left Right Forward’ whilst I was walking down the street on my way to practice. At first I didn’t like it until I started hearing the chorus in my head. I immediately got excited, and had written the verses in the 10 minutes it took me to meet the band. It all came out so naturally – the lyrics are just rantings that came to mind in that moment. whilst it hits on some actual serious subjects, it’s more just a stream of thought, so is also super humorous and fun and our most lighthearted one yet.”
Led by Fin Power’s instantly-discernable vocals, STONE are completed by Elliot Gill (lead guitar) Sarah Surrage (bass), and Alex Smith (drums). Their burgeoning fanbase already includes some of music’s biggest names, which has led to handpicked support slots from the likes of YungBlud, Inhaler, Sam Fender, as well as blistering festival sets at Reading and Leeds and Louis Tomlinson’s ‘Away from Home’ line up in Malaga. The band have been tipped as ones to watch by the likes of NME, Dork, Rolling Stone UK, MTV and more, and championed across BBC Radio1 and 6Music. ‘Left Right Forward’ sees STONE forge ahead, staking their claim as one of the UK’s most exhilarating young acts.
