Released on 10th March, ‘More To Hell’ is a 30 minute companion piece EP to 2022’s ‘Less To Heaven’, the current album by the cult act Psyclon Nine founded two decades ago by US musician Nero Bellum. It includes new tracks plus remixes by Skold, Suicide Commando, Snakes Of Russia, Jay E and Pitch Black, as well as Bellum himself.

Not for the faint-hearted, the dark and aggressive electro assault of P9’s 2003 debut album, ‘Divine Infekt’, earned popularity and notoriety worldwide, while its follow-up, ‘INRI’ (2005), had a lyrical focus on (ir)religious themes. Nero Bellum has chosen to tread an even darker path ever since, his distinctive whispered-scream vocals guiding fans through a distinctive take on modern dark music that has implemented elements of black metal and post-punk influences that, although often featuring haunting melodies, has nevertheless had an undercurrent of unbridled menace.

P9’s current album, ‘Less To Heaven’, is a complex and immersive work that sees Bellum at a creative peak, with concussive, machine-precise drums, hammering guitars, scathing vocals and evil electronics all interplaying seamlessly. Although usually described as industrial and/or industrial metal, it sees P9 chart undefined territory that bridges elements of metalcore with doom electronics, trip-techno with black metal, and experimental cinematic soundscapes with alternative rock.
